Two of the greatest impressionist artist are Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh. Though two lived in different times both of them and a love for how the sunlight light up scenes and that is what made them be impressionist. The art of Monet is actually what Van Gogh realize the beauty in impressionism. Before that he did simple sketches and many self portraits, unlike Monet who did very few self portraits. At a young age they both lived with their parents but Claude Monet was the only one to have both die at a young age. Another difference is that Van Gogh had wanted to become a pastor and go on missions. He was never a successful pastor but this is what helped him travel and have inspiration for paintings such as “The Potato Eaters.” Also Claude Monet had been drawing and painting his whole life by going to many art schools but Van Gogh had not started his profession in art until he was around twenty one and was working at a firm for art dealers. Both of the artist have paintings that are easily recognizable and the two's most memorable paintings were “Impression, Sunrise” by Claude Monet, and “Starry Night” by Vincent Van Gogh. Even in death the two had left this world in different ways. Van Gogh had died at the young age of 37 by suicide, many believe this to be from his major mental illnesses and many speculate that this is what might have changed some of his later works. While Claude died from old age at the age of 86. Also Claude was able to die with both years but had a diminishing eye sight in his old age.
